Why Hello 2013! and the dreaded "Anniversary Date"

Really? It's already 2013...and it's April.  Here goes my first post of the year. :)

Well, the date has come and gone.  Two years since my perfect 10-fingered, 10-toed brown-eyed baby had his first grand mal seizure.  I didn't put to much thought into the date this year, except the subtle reminder that it is time for all of his bi-annual doctor appointments (afterall, therapy is going well and the medications seem to be working!).  So I have spent the last week leaving messages with GI, Neuro, Developmental Pediatrician, Pulmonologist  and the Geneticist.  Augh, the geneticist...I totally forgot we were still waiting on the mtDNA test result.

This was our last attempt of non-invasive testing in effort to avoid the muscle biopsy.  Man, I was not ready for the call; "Is this a good time to talk, we need to meet with you and your husband to go over options the test was inconclusive." Of course, it will probably take them another week or two to schedule the appointment, and by then it will probably be August before they have an opening. Inconclusive isn't a positive; but it isn't a negative either... so for now I guess I'll just focus on the good... like how stinkin' cute these two babies are!
